Grouting water stop and Leakage Stoppage Technology for box culvert

The common types of box culvert diseases are leakage of box culvert joint, corrosion, foundation settlement, wall cracking caused by uneven structural stress. For example, water leakage of power box culvert will cause contact network trip and discharge leakage, affect safe operation and cause personal injury.

In the construction, the method of combination of blocking and drainage is adopted, and grouting water stop and leakage stoppage technology, a polyurethane material with strong leakage stoppage, speedpac H100, is used for grouting construction. The surface properties of the material can be divided into hydrophobicity, rapid reaction with water, foaming expansion, gradually stable with time, chemical corrosion resistance, non-toxic and solvent-free, which can be applied to water rich environment.

Process advantages

In short term, the expansion rate can reach 18 times, forming a closed waterproof system in the crack, and the compressive capacity can reach 20 MPa;

The curing time (catalyst content) can be adjusted according to the needs of the project, and the effect is obvious in water gushing environment;

After reaction, the solidified body is resistant to acid, alkali, organic solvent and chemical corrosion;

Construction steps

Pre grouting preparation


1. Looking for cracks: for the wet base course, the accumulated water shall be cleaned first. When the base course is completely cleaned and the surface is slightly dry, the leakage cracks shall be found and marked.


2. Drilling: according to the thickness of the concrete structure, 150-350mm away from the crack, cross drilling shall be conducted along both sides of the crack direction, and the hole distance shall be determined according to the actual situation on site. The hole and fracture section should be crossed at an angle of 45-60 °.


3. Embedding grouting pipe: insert steel pipe after drilling.


Grouting step


1. First, adjust the curing time according to the water leakage, the pump pressure used at the beginning of grouting should be low, and then slowly increase the pressure until the slurry flows out;


2、 The results show that the transmission and extension of grout is effective;


3. When the slurry flows to the whole crack, the grouting is completed;


4. After grouting, remove the grouting steel pipe.
